چکیده

including baseline length and tilt. Successful implementation Ground tie points have been used to improve the accuracy of a DEM derived from interferometric SAR (I~SAR) data. The number of tie points required for ensuring certain accuracy of the I~SAR-derived DEM was investigated in this study in two ways. One is the least-squares estimate of the corrections to a DEM using tie points, and the other is using an optimization procedure to estimate the uncertainties in estimations of I~SAR parameters, mainly the baseline length, tilt angle, and reference phase using tie points, and resultant DEM error. It was found that, in terms of required tie points, both give comparable results. The latter method, though, can be applied in more realistic cases to design the tie point acquisition strategy for a mission.

Improvement of the Accuracy of InSAR Image Co-Registration Based On Tie Points – A Review

Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) is a new measurement technology, making use of the phase information contained in the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. InSAR has been recognized as a potential tool for the generation of digital elevation models (DEMs) and the measurement of ground surface deformations. However, many critical factors affect the quality of InSAR data and lim...

Dem Registration, Alignment and Evaluation for Sar Interferometry

To generate an accurate digital elevation model (DEM), Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) requires precise orbit data and baseline information, which are not always available. An alternative approach is to apply quality ground control points (GCPs) into the InSAR processing. However, locating high quality GCPs can also be difficult task, due to the low spatial resolution and radio...

Phase-Offset Calculation for InSAR DEM Generation Without Using Ground Control Points

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a microwave remote sensing sensor, which can be mounted either on spaceborne or airborne systems and allows night and day and all-weather imaging. Use of interferometric SAR systems (which consist of two SAR antennas pointing to the same area from slightly different view angles) allows the generation of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) by means of the so-called ...

Assimilation of DEMs generated from optical stereo and InSAR pair through data fusion

Main objective of this study is to compare and assimilate the digital elevation models (DEMs) generated using C-band Envisat, L-band ALOS PALSAR Interferometric SAR (InSAR) datasets and Cartosat-1 optical stereo data. The study area is Dehradun city and surroundings including lower Shivalik hills i.e. the younger Himalayas in the south and higher Himalayas on the north. The general elevation of...

Problem of automatic DEM generation

The data acquisition of Digital Elevation Models (DEM) by manual photogrammetric measurements has widely been replaced by automatic image matching, LIDAR and Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (INSAR). All these techniques are generating digital surface models (DSM) with points located on top of buildings and dense vegetation and not on the ground, like mainly requested. Especially in urb...
